Sinopsis

Basada en la novela de Isabel Allende, el film nos presenta a Esteban Trueba, un humilde minero que consigue subir en la escala social al adquirir una hacienda abandonada que logra levantar, y casarse con Clara, la hija de un adinerado político conservador. Clara es una extraña mujer con poderes mágicos y con una peculiar relación con Férula, hermana de Esteban. El matrimonio vive con su hija que ha heredado el carácter de su padre; cuando se enamore de un joven líder izquierdista el conflicto generacional entre padre e hija no tarda en surgir.

¿Qué le dijiste a Pai Mai para que te arrancara el ojo?
En un momento del combate, Beatrix le pregunta por qué Pai Mei le había arrancado el ojo derecho; ella contesta que lo había llamado "viejo tonto y miserable", y que ella más tarde, en represalia por el castigo, le había envenenado la comida, matándolo.
La pelea continúa, y cuando ambas cargan y sus espadas chocan, Kiddo arranca el ojo izquierdo a su rival.
Beatrix se retira, dejando a Elle ciega e insultando de dolor, y con la mamba negra aún suelta por la caravana, su destino queda en duda al final de la pelicula.
